Do You Smell Mistletoe?
Do you realize that as of today, August 2, 2012 there are only 144 days until Christmas?
Does it still seem early to you that I mention it? Maybe you haven't been to the mall. Remember when Christmas season started in November, after Thanksgiving? Or the year they hung Christmas garland next to bat garland? Or when school supplies were in the aisle next to the Christmas trees? This year I was amazed to see Christmas in JULY...for real! I went into a store and they had inner tubes and sunscreen on sale across the aisle from lawn decoration elves and reindeer. Amazing.
But we live in a super-fast paced world. And before you know it that 144 will have worked its way down to 4 and we'll all be scrambling for those last minute gifts.
Maybe....

Becoming a FATSO!
Are you becoming a FATSO? I'm not talking about the kind of fat you get from eating Krispy Kremes, or Snicker's bars, or Venti Carmel Macciatos. That kind of fat you get from spending too much time on the seat of a chair instead of a bicycle seat. That kind of fat that is born out of your New Year's Resolution---again...Oh, no.... I'm talking about Fanatic About The SCARFFIE Organization!

Brrrr!!
If I told you that it was a little cold on the airplane on my non-stop from LAX to ATL that would be a flat-out LIE! It was freezing! On the plane with my kiddos, my youngest tried to cover himself with his backpack! I motioned to the attendant to ask for a blanket, but I guess our flight did not warrant blankets being it was only supposed to be a three and a half hour trip. As Murphy's Law seemed to also have booked the same flight as us we were delayed do to a medical emergency (everyone's okay) that slowed us down about 45 minutes... I thought ahead though. I had packed FIVE! YES, FIVE SCARFFIEs!!! Three from last year's fall/winter collection and two from Spring. I was on it! SCARFFIE providing in the way it was designed and intended. However, in all my thinking, I packed them and checked them in my luggage! My mind was screaming at me in the way that my mind does when I do a bone-head thing...REALLY?! UNDER THE PLANE? REALLY?! It Is Summer and It Is Hot
I didn't find the SCARFFIE right away but what I did find was that I have a LOT of SCARFFIES. I didn't even know I had that many. Apparently I have been collecting them since the very beginning. I slid past last winter and though I had no intention of wearing the thicker fabric and darker colors I still stopped and looked and touched.The fabric of SCARFFIE is always so pleasing to the senses. The bright colors and luscious feel. Makes you feel like you are being pampered...well, come to think of it, I guess you are. You know it and so does everyone else when they realize that what you have on is something new.
