There is something about hearing the "Star Spangled Banner" that just moves me. Patriotism and belonging. It doesn't matter where or when I hear it; I have the urge to stand and put my had over my heart and look to the heavens. There is just something about the recognition of that song that pulls on the memories of youth and brings appreciation for who we are and how far we have come.

Then I think of all the many Americans who pull together, even today, to make our country what it is. A melting pot of people who work together, support one another, and make us a great people. A nation, under God, still. A nation united in something great and something wonderful that just makes you want to run up and start offering high-fives to complete strangers on the street.
